Ruth Shaw's Designer Fashion Brands - Baltimore City, Maryland
Spring 2010 marks a return to rag & bone's roots, revisiting and reexamining the brand’s original influences. The functionality and integrity of American work wear spun with a bespoke British twist. The classic style of Savile Row, mixed with vintage military patterns, marked the starting point for designers Marcus Wainwright and David Neville. Working against the background of rag & bone’s utilitarian aesthetic, the collection took shape as a unique meld of these incongruent influences. Keeping in step with the spirit of a spring collection, the look is dressed down with layered knits and loose-fitting trousers, creating a tension with the narrow jackets and tailored military coats. Key fabrics include stone and enzyme-washed vintage twill and chambray, aged leather, and, for the women’s line, stone-washed silk and Duchesse Satin. Most fabrics continue to be from Japan, with special additions such as Swiss and Italian stretch Ponte knits.
Spring 2010 also marks the launch of three companion collections to the main line: rag & bone/JEAN, rag & bone/SHIRT and rag & bone/KNIT. Each label offers quality basics infused with the brand’s core ethos: luxury fabrics, expertly made in America. The collections feature functional, essential pieces that constitute the foundation of a modern girl’s wardrobe.
